Nick Dowers embodies the ideals of Western heritage, and he has dedicated his life and career to sharpening his horsemanship skills. He believes the best way to teach a horse is by harnessing its mind and creating a positive relationship. As a National Reined Cow Horse Association Open Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion, his philosophy focuses on blending natural horsemanship and performance horse training techniques to develop a balanced, confident athlete. Strong family values and a sincere love for horses have earned Dowers the respect of his fellow horsemen. The Dyer, Nevada, native has trained under the likes of Bryan Neubert, Joe Wolter, Bill Van Norman, Andrea Fappani and Annie Reynolds, and his lifetime earnings exceed $584,000.

Road to the Horse ranks among the premier colt-starting events in the world. It’s unlike anything seen before: educational, entertaining and inspiring. World-class horses and world-class equine clinicians spend three days together on a journey toward trust in front of 10,000 equine-savvy spectators within the Kentucky Horse Park’s Alltech Arena in Lexington. 2019 is sure to be a fan favorite with the return of two world champions, Nick Dowers and Vicki Wilson to battle it out with unprecedented competition of starting 3 colts each.
